When asked about accusations from Gary Rossington about him running away from the tragic crash site on a past documentary “On the Vh1 Documentary Gary was interviewed and said Atimus ran away from the plane crash because he was scared. You dam right I was scared. My friends were killed before my eyes, the pilot and co-pilot, who were my friends were killed. I found them decapitated, it wasn’t a pretty site. So yeah I was scared and I wanted to get to help before I died and bring help back to the crash site and that’s exactly what I did. As far as me running away from the crash site I couldn’t run I had injuries, I walked, I crawled I dragged myself along.” When asked about the details on the new movie “It’s not a documentary it’s a live action move about the day before the day of and the day after the tragic plane crash. There are a lot of Skynrd fans all over the world that want to hear the story. Cleopatra films is behind it. Right when the news came out in Rolling Stone that I was doing the film, Judy Van Zandt sent 12 blood sucking weasel attorneys and they said horrible things about me and they tried to sue me. During the trial what I said to the judge was I am a rock n roll hall of fame drummer of Lynyrd Skynyrd why would I make a bad movie about my friends. I think the court of appeals saw my point and three judge’s rules unanimously against Judy. I will always have Judy Van Zandt as my nemesis because she is power hungry and its is all about money and control. Cleopatra films is allowed to go forward with the film and the film is finished and I heard it looks really good, even with a low budget of 1.4 million dollars. “ When asked about his feeling towards the current Lynyrd Skynyrd band “I miss Gary Rossington, he has had 5 heart attacks and the Skynyrd people keep pushing him back on the road even after two weeks of recovery. Gary is their cash cow. And it also offends me that they dress up artists as my dead friends and call the band Lynyrd Skynyrd.”
